Just an FYI. If you could spread the word that would be wonderful.

The old Gladiator files (just the film section not the other galleries) will be deleted at the end of the year. To keep our community of message boards, blogs, facebook pages, etc. from experiencing a lot of missing images, please replace old Gladiator images with the new blu ray images or save images to a photo account and repost. Please remember that kaspinet has a 'share the love'...

been thinking about this. all of the characters on the covers are immediately identifiable, so they probably deserve to be called 'icons'. then i realized that almost all of them have some connection with other films, either prior films or sequels - aragorn (3 films), jason bourne (3 films), kill bill, batman, harry potter, jack sparrow, wolverine, shaun of the dead (direct connection to the 80's cult film), james bond (goodness only knows how many!).

We've been getting a few more comments regarding the darkness of the shots. I explained above that I think they are darker because with bluray we are seeing true black for the first time. When I calibrate my HDTV I not only calibrate the primary colors (red, blue, yellow) but I also calibrate the shades of gray from white to true black. Our older TVs had a black that falls way short of true black so here is my theory. When the scene is in motion, those different levels of gray to black...

thank you Isis and Kaspi, what a beautiful job you did. I have posted so many pictures from you in the past, and sometimes forget to give you the credit, and thats because i would forget where i got them from, but now i have put yours in a separate folder, i had to do the same with Jellyd, and Jo. with the beautiful painstakenly work you guys do it is unfair to let someone else get the credit.

They didn't have Blu-Ray, so they could see every detail, and they didn't have Isis checking things for them....

Thanks for catching that. The little birdie (and 12 others screenshots that go from Max catching the movement, until he turns to go back up the hill) have been emailed to kaspi to upload. If anyone else catches any blank spots, please let me know.

Thanks guys. It was a pretty big job, but for me, it was something I simply had to do.

Where's the bird? You're right, I just checked my originals and he isn't there. I have no idea how I missed him. I will remedy this right away.

Now that many of you have had a chance to check things out I want to show you something I found. Remember the guy in jeans in the scene where the General is eating the apple and petting the horse. Look in the bottom left corner.

I have to agree , MM, with that scene.

Lovely caps , Isis. Stunning!
I think I'll enjoy revisiting the General in the new year, although I have to admit that capping is not my favourite thing.
I know that, as much as you may love a movie, capping and setting them up on a website can be tedious work so thanks Isis and Kaspi.
