And I just happen to have one of those cans sitting right here.

Spotted dick is a steamed suet pudding containing dried fruit (usually currants), commonly served with either custard or butter and brown sugar. Spotted refers to the dried fruit (which resemble spots) and Dick may be a contraction/corruption of the word pudding (from the last syllable) or possibly a corruption of the word...

i'd love to see the ingredients panel. i can't imagine they make it with ~~lard~~ [ed. to correct - suet!], in which case, the captain wouldn't like it. he'd eat it, but he would be disappointed.

Actually samoosas are not the same as samosas -- similar, but different. For one thing they have meat in them... they're probably Indonesian or something! I guess when I was a kid in HK, I classified anything not American or British as Chinese. Bad, I know! LOL

ANYWAY... back to the captioning...

see, that's exactly why the north won the war - innovation, creativity, daring...
i'm pretty sure that samosas are an indian food rather than chinese. i love those things! in fact, i have a couple to eat with dinner tonight. the place where i get them only makes vegetarian samosas, very spicy, and they're lovely with a cranberry/apple chutney i just happen to have hanging around.
