Nah, don't be sorry.....there's little enough to talk about; so anything that gives an excuse to talk is ok. Which is likely the reason the article
was written. Something to say. Thanks for scanning and posting it!
I think all you have to do is look at the picture of the author to see why she thinks being younger automatically means you have an advantage......while WE of course think the opposite.....almost.

Yeah, don't be sorry, it was amusing...poor Sean and Audrey, well into their 40s when filming Robin and Marian, just ancient.
From Murph's. A 10 minute interview Alan Jones had recently with Russell on the set of RH. What a treat for us, and for Alan apparently, LOL. Russell sounds like that 6 year old who fell in love with Robin Hood and Alan sounds like a kid in a candy shop. It must be impressive to be taken around a set that massive and to watch the filming of scenes such as the one Russell describes. Just Wow! http://www.2gb.com.au/index2.php?option=com_newsmanager&task=view&id=3743
"He sees everything through the point of view of the character. That's fantastic. It's like working with a proper actor as opposed to working with a movie star." - Kevin Macdonald |

It made me giggle out loud, 6point7!
And I don't care if Russell's buckles squeak! He can swash with the best of 'em, creaky hardware and all. |

robin and marian was one of my favorite movies for a very long time. there was some excellent dialogue in that one. but they did seem old at the time... you can't eat your pride or cleanse your soul of what is you -

Thanks for posting that article about RH and the manufactured age factor. I do recall that Harrison Ford was doing Indiana Jones in hie mid-forties and then followed that up with the Jack Ryan/Tom Clancy political thrillers when he was in his fifties. Then of course there is Bruce Willis and John McClain and... reaching even further back in movie history Cary Grant in North by Northwest,,wasn't he in his fifties? Now what I cited is just a few examples there are others.Russell Crowe as Robin Hood is great casting and Blanchett as Marion is great as well. You know nowadays there is a "literalness" with these media journalists, which makes them sound like idiots. Can they think outside the box at all??So many of the younger actors and actresses have no acting chops at all and their movies are bloody boring wastes of time. |

.........just one last comment about that silly Mirror piece that probably informed my instant giggles when I read it, Matthew is a great big lummox of a
public schoolboy and is more adept at cooking a delicious meal than being in ANY way the macho man. He's a great big (adorable) lumbering softee, achingly
in love with his wife and kids. Goodness knows what he has in common with Russell ;)

6point7, sorry if I was too harsh on the comment.
But judging and making comment on the man's action capability based on his age is
disrecpectful and unfunny IMO. Another example of trashy journalism!
Btw, I just luuuuuuv the audio interview with 2 GB's Alan Jones!! Thx for bringing that up, fellas. Indeed Cindy, he sounded like a child with his Christmas toys. A
very happy child. Love him when he's into that jolly spirit. So glad that everything goes just wonderful on the
set. Imagine how Russ's RH does all those great action. Gosh! Still next year,
Susi... still next year.
I wonder if he will walk the red carpet for the premiere in London next year. I happen to arrange a plan to go backpacking in London. Calling UK fans out there! Any tips?

silly Mirror piece that probably informed my instant giggles when I read itSilly? I don't know. "How long do these people live? It depends on where you are and what sort of wealth you enjoy. Yeomen in Worcestershire in the first half of the14th century can, at the age of twenty, look forward to an average of twenty-eight years more of life; and their successors in the second half can expect another thirty-two years."Just goes to show... Russell's Robin will be a wise, experienced sage amongst the youngsters and there ain't nothin' wrong with that!
6, thanks. What we do in life... echoes in eternity.

Well......
an average of twenty-eight yearsYes, the life expectancy was pretty damn short compared to ours now, but you have to remember, that average would include the horrendous infant mortality, and the death toll from childbirth and epidemics. And wars. There would have been some people that lived a long time.....just not lots. I
imagine a few people with money would have had better, longer lives. And maybe the fighting men, if they could avoid being killed, just because they would
have been in better condition. I think William the First lived to be 60? And William Marshall in the next century, over 70.
Someone Russell's age would have been at the height of his strength and personal power. As you said, wise and experienced. The perfect age, in fact.

William Marshal, by the way, is a really interesting guy. A man who made his own way with his own intelligence, strength and charisma.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Marshal If Russell ever wanted to do another medieval picture (which he won't, he doesn't like to do the same thing twice, ), William Marshal would
have been a terrific role for him.....

London isn't really back-packing country. Pack a suitcase, dump it in the hotel/hostel, pop your wallet & camera in a fanny pack (but refer to it as a bum-bag) and explore. That's my tip! ![]() Breathe in, as deep as you can.... |

Eleanore of Aquitaine lived into her eighties, and gave birth to ten children. (Pretty damn impressive for a woman in any era.) |

Thx 6, I'll take that into consideration. I kinda like the idea to pick Best Western Hotel in Chiswick. And it seems London Pass Card is quite suitable for
me. Gotta ask... what's a fanny pack or bum-bag? Is that the same as belt pack or hip sack?
Off to search for more RH news. ![]()

They took that from the Alan Jones interview. He thinks it will be Robin Hood, but you never know. How many different names did they think of for Body of
Lies before it was finished? He and Ridley don't think anything of changing things right up till the last minute.
