I've got 4 already. The usual suspects plus the UK video.
I can hear Isis muttering what Uncle Henry did about young Max cheating at chess....

Isis - But Cat... it'll only be #4. I have some control. Yes, I know. And yes, I exaggerated in an attempt at levity.
4? There are 4 already? I have the original...the extended special edition.....what else was there???? And no...I'm not buying any more!

I, on the other hand, have no control whatsoever. I went and checked, and I have 5 versions already..... (back-ups are a good thing).

This is cute. General Maximus is a first time starter running in the 2nd race at Belmont tomorrow. I'll let you know how he does. And no, you can't
buy him.

i tried to find a pic of him, but i guess since it's his first race, there aren't any. he's running at 10-1 odds, however.

want to!

The General was victorious. Did all you ladies send in money to win? He won by at least 6 lengths and went off 1-1. On to the 2010 Derby.

i guess i will be asking the dumbest question of all time. I have a brand new flat screen, which the kids gave me for my birthday, and it is HD and i have
Direct cable with the HD DVR setup . my question is, can i play a Blue Ray dvd on my regular dvd player?

Goodo, Rusty, sounds like you got a good setup there for your birthday.....I'm afraid you can't play Blu-Ray discs on your regular dvd
player...:(....HOWEVER, the good news is, if you get your kids to get you a Blu-Ray player to go with the rest of your HiDef stuff, you can play all your old
dvds on IT.

And more good news is that the prices are coming down. I saw a BD player for $150 last weekend at I think either at Best Buy or Sears. Last night I followed
the Amazon link at Murphs and did a pre-buy for all the RC bluray available.
I just thought of something, Rusty anything filmed in HD will show as HD on your new TV. You just need to watch close because some things they say are HD really aren't. If you see lots of pixelation on the screen during fast motion, then it's fake HD. Still good, but you will be amazed at the difference the first time you see something in real HD. every bump on Russell's face
and i can now understand why the entertainers don't like it HD brings out all the flaws in some stars.

I'm not a techno person at all, so I don't care about new stuff. And when I do upgrade, it always has something to do with Russell.
Bought a computer and discovered the internet after Gladiator hit me like a ton of bricks. Bought a cheapo APEX dvd player because Gladiator was coming out on dvd. That old APEX is still going strong. Upgraded to a 25 inch TV screen when M&C was coming out on DVD, so I could see the captain larger. Found a used Magnavox for $100.00 and it is still going strong. But I won't be sad whenever it finally bites the dust, because that's when I'll buy my first flat screen. And more good news is that the prices are coming down. I saw a BD player for $150 last weekend at I think either at Best Buy or Sears. That's great news! I have to buy a blu ray player when Robin Hood comes out on dvd. I figure there will be so much good behind the scenes stuff on the blu ray dvd, and I won't want to miss a single minute. I'm afraid the non blu ray folks will get screwed by the Robin Hood dvd releases, but we really dodged a bullet on the SOP dvds. The non blu ray release will get deleted scenes and a making of, thank goodness! I'm a happy camper.

Upgraded to a 25 inch TV screenUpgraded to a 60" when Gladiator dvd came out. It's still alive but have bought a flat screen for my bedroom and added the Blu Ray dvd to that one. I'm in heaven now. ![]() |
