Dawns on me I never followed up and posted on here about The Boot...the sorta fanciful 11 chapter story I wrote about
Maximus' boot I have. Is deliberately intended to fuel a Maximusaholic's fantasies. Jo http://libriscrowe.com/jo/boot1.htm |

maximus is alive!Well, Becky, only if you're a time traveler like Carolyn into the 'way back' machine/portal to ancient times!!! Still, it might be an interesting journey!! In any event, ITA with you!!! WOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOWWOW and a yippee or two!!! Well done, Jo, very convincingly well done!! I was however, looking for that other TV time traveler/hopper....whassis name!!!?!?!? Could that be an "epi" in the making?!?!? Just think of the adventures one could have with a portal-opening prop....shackles, or priest's collar, or a violin??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. Too true! Well, maybe when they say "apparently they got it right", they meant that the new 3-d image matched Ridley's. A
friend of mine often refers to the scene in Gladiator when the camera swoops in over Rome, because he swears he can see the street on which his sister lived
(and he visited) back in 2003.

508. Russell Crowe hero "Maximus" shield from Gladiator. (DreamWorks, 2000) This hero shield was used by Russell Crowe as "Maximus" in the Coliseum battle sequence with "Tigris of Gaul". This ornate silver and black shield is made of a durable polyurethane outer coating with rigid fiberglass support structure. The reverse side of the shield has a forearm pad with two leather straps. This shield has some wear to the paintwork from sword marks from the fight sequence and the leather straps exhibits perspiration stains from heavy use. $10,000 - $12,000 Humina humina....

Gee, those Romans were advanced, and how much was lost when those black-garbed, tattoed, multi-pierced Goths defeated them.
Look at how many centuries it took for us to rediscover aquaducts, central heating, and durable polyurethane outer coatings with rigid fiberglass support structures.
$10,000-$12,000, huh? Must be for the perspiration stains.

wondered where you were!! Nice to see you around!
(I think of you whenever I see a Palm Treo!) What a great wall hanging that shield would make???

Hey Cat, Marie, Maxi, Bea and all!
Good to be back for a bit. Things are going okay except that I got laid off. :( But so are a lot of people these days so I'm in good company. In every other way, life is great. I saw that Maximus' sword and shield were both up for auction. Anyone hear if that's happened yet? Hugs, Isobel |

Hi Isobel glad to see you back. as far as the shield goes, for $10,000 or $12,000 i know the sweat alone is worth that, but i would like a few of the armpit
hairs attached too. (i know gross isn't it, but hey thats it.)
