Rusty lends a hand to parents on the web
Russell Crowe has variously been known as a movie star, musician, farmer and footy fan, but his latest venture is totally unrelated to any of these.
Our Rusty has teamed up with Peter Holmes a Court, his wife Divonne and former National Party leader Tim Fischer to launch a parenting website.
The trio last week won a $4 million government contract to build the site to provide advice on raising children.
With four kids under five, the Holmes a Courts should know the odd thing about parenting, but we're not so certain about Rus, who has just the one sprog with wife Danielle.
Their win was announced by Kay Patterson, the Minister for Family and Community Services last week, but the senator didn't mention the bodies behind the so called Raising Children Network.
We're told Divonne has been the main driver of the project and has spent much of the past year preparing her pitch to the federal government.
Peter has spent the year being a good parent, after departing as chief executive of the Australian Agricultural Company just over a year ago.
With this project off the ground, we gather he is preparing to re-enter the corporate world, but we're not sure what this will involve.
