It really was an amazing tennis match. I was planning to go to a matinee movie and kept saying, as soon as this set is over. And it kept goingg and going
and going. I finallly gave up at 14-14 in the last set... and then two games later and it was over!
I was proud of Andy Roddick - he showed that he really has come a long way. But I was torn - I wanted Andy Murray to be in the final! ah well... next year!

i am so in awe of the gold color trousers. I love them, and he looks so good. we are so used to seeing him in shorts or sweats, and occasionally in suits and
geans, but this is a treat to see that he does wear regular slacks.
and can somebody please tell me, how from these photos, the reporter, stupid as he is could get the idea that he is causing havoc over changing his seat, he was already sitting in Center Court with all the other celebrities. he probably was asking a question, there was no scowl on his face. i am so sick of these lame reporters, trying to make a name for themselves. phone throwing was 4yrs ago. WTF. get a life fellow.

Yes, Rusty, the the phone throwing was in 2005 ( the pic of Russell arrested made the cover of many newspaper here!) but they will probably mention it for
ever! The mass media are great for many reasons but, in other cases, may get " dangerous" for all the power they have got.

welcome back pwesley, was wondering where you, Connie and plymth and a couple of others were. I know there hasn't been too much action except for RH, and
we really can't complain, after all we have been getting lots of photos and couple of reports.
BTW PWESLEY the poetry was not bad at all. Rusty |

this is cool - livingston taylor (james' brother) is doing a concert at the ski resort down the road from me. they must have moved the stage to an outside
platform, because i can just hear it from my house. of course i can't really make out what he's singing, but i saw him many many many moons ago and
can imagine what a treat it must be for the attendees.
and it's nice that it's not raining for a change... becks you can't eat your pride or cleanse your soul of what is you -

pwesley, good to see you back.
I'm so sorry to hear you've lost your Dad. I'ts nice you have your Mom with you. I know from personal experience what an adjustment it can be but I'm grateful everyday that my mom is here. She initially wanted her own apartment nearby but having here is so much easier for us both. to you and your Mom.

pwesley, i am so glad to see you back, condolence to you and your mom, sorry to hear about your dad. i know some mothers and daughters have a hard time
together, but when we have our mothers it is still a blessing. you both have each other and your memories of your dad, so share them. God Bless you both.
i know you can't smell them but you can imagine what they smell like. Rusty |

yup, living with Mom, however much you love her, is a challenge - I had my mom for 64 years, for which I'm grateful. Everyonce in a while I think or see something and want to tell Mom because she'd appreciate it. *sigh* this occured to me today: Has anyone else noticed the latest penchant (nice word, huh? ![]() of the media to use LARGE CAPITOL LETTERS for everything? Today the US tennis Open ads
in the NY Times were using them and I've seen them on tv ads and on music videos (yeah, sometimes I watch them - it's work for me ;) ). Personally, I
think it's the rise of the aging Baby Boomers and their retreating eye sight! What'dya think?

pwesley - I'm sorry for the loss of your dad. I hope you and your mom can enjoy each other while you've still got time with her.
Bea - I started having my eyebrows waxed. Not because it was ever difficult to manage them myself - but because I can no longer see them with my glasses
off - and it's impossible to tweeze with glasses on!
C'mon get happy! We'll make you happy! |

but because I can no longer see them with my glasses off - and it's impossible to tweeze with glasses on!I quit wearing mascara except for special occassions for the very same reason pwesley, sorry for the loss of your dad but I'm a bit envious of your time with your mom. I lost my mom about 15 years ago and there are many things I wish I could share with her now. What we do in life... echoes in eternity.

i just put this exact same post up in the 'cinema and television' thread, but i feel strongly enough about this film that i wanted to make sure
everyone sees it.
directed by robert benton with an amazing ensemble cast - morgan freeman, jane alexander, greg kinnear, selma blair, radha mitchell, billy burke. it's about love and loss and truth and trust; the script is outstanding and unexpected, low key and rivetting, tears of laughter and grief throughout. i rarely give a two-thumbs up to any film (unless russell is in it), but this one gets an unqualified warning - do NOT watch the extras before watching the film - several really big spoilers. wish i hadn't. and i can so completely see russell in the role occupied by kinnear. it's new year's day, just like the day before. same old skies of grey; same
empty bottles on the floor.

I'm playing with my new computer - not liking how hot it gets under my hands and the reflection from the screen
I have to see what else it will do - but so far, it's lighter than the 'old' one and has lots of internal power...........................funny how it didnt figure out the correct time when it powered up?
