I didn't have the second Novik book available when I went to the libarry (yes, that's on purpose) so I went for one of my dad's favorite authors: Margery Allingham. Quite enjoyable old "snug" sort of mystery! And then I'm back to "Throne of Jade" (I think it is)... And yes, I'd love to see "A Tale of Two Cities" - brilliant book! Did you ever read/see "Little Dorrit"? Really long book (over 900 pages), but great book. It's the one that made me go back and read all of the Dickens books I could get my hands on. That Dickens guy could really write like the dickens! Looks like I missed a few things. She also used the word "excellent" for a part. And when I said my writing compatriots (thank you, P'sR ladies) are encouraging, but did she as a professional think I had the right "stuff" to make writing not just a hobby but to pursue it, she said, "Definitely. You have the talent." Okay now it's my turn to say: See, see?? Now do you believe? I've been waiting to read your novel for a few years now, Cat, so I hope this spurs you on! Glad to see you around. I'm waiting for Cat's novel too! i never liked 'a christmas carol' and never had any desire to read any of his work. That was exactly how I was before I had to read "Little Dorrit" for a class (on my 17-year journey to a bachelor's degree). After that I just had to read more to find out what I had missed! I ended up deciding to have an English minor mostly because they gave me credit for reading! Oh darn! HBO is running the movie AUSTRALIA, and i just happen to catch it. BOY OH BOY am i glad Russell had the knowledge to turn this down. i was never so disappointed in a movie. THE SCENERY was beautiful THE LITTLE FELLA , was the most talented one in the movie, and simply gorgeous. HUGH looked good, but Russell would have looked better. NICOLE as for Nicole , i like her but , she was a wreck her acting was pitiful , the movie was way too long. i just could not get into it, and turned it off before it was over. TMO. maybe i wanted Russell for the part of Drover, and maybe if he was the picture would have been much better story wise and other wise. did anyone else catch this movie? Rusty
