were these taken on his farm? I don't think there are any joshua trees on the farm. Lots of eucalyptus but desert plants not so likely. That actually looks like the desert north of Los Angeles but I don't remember for a fact.

I'm not sure where they were taken, but the one where he's just poured water all over himself was the one in the EW profile for his Best Actor
nomination for "The Insider", so it could have been in LA. I remember getting the magazine and flipping through the pages as I talked to a friend on
the phone. She asked me what I wanted for my birthday, and I turned the page, saw that picture, and said, "That!"
...And the rest is

Pretty sure that's Joshua Tree National Park outside L.A., not sure how I'm pretty sure, though.
I love that series, too. It's by Yariv
Milchan, who did the EW Entertainer of the Year shoot as well as my all time favorite, the series from the farm for the 2002 Cowboys & Indians.
