And of course I appreciate the way they got Jamie's shirt off so often in this episode, to show off his scars to raise money for the war.
There's a threefold significance to Jamie's stripping: 1) showing how callous and single-minded Dougal is in pursuit of his goal, to the point of humiliating his own nephew, 2) showing how Jamie is sensitive enough to be humiliated by it yet strong enough to deal with it, and his duty to family no matter what, and 3) showing Claire's anger and pity on Jamie's behalf and growing understanding of and feelings for him.
There's a fourth significance, of course. Tummy squishies!
I wonder if Claire is concerned that her being there will change the future? She doesn't seem to mention it, not yet anyway. Cat, do they mention that in the books at all?
I can't tell you without majorly spoiling. Suffice it to say...she thought of Culloden and warned Ned that their cause is doomed, didn't she?
On another note, I love the fur ruffs on her coat. Fantastic!
And I don't. While they're lovely, they're very non-book, and if you think about it, about as likely for a guest-cum-prisoner who arrived essentially without clothes as all her other outfits are. Where did they come from? Who made them? Did Lady Letitia just donate her castoffs? Ah well...Jamie has more outfits, too....and I can't say as I really mind those, so....

My daughter still says his hair is not red enough. Is it my imagination, or has it gotten redder in the last couple of episodes? What do you think, Cat?
Well, since Herself in the books describes Jamie's hair as pretty much containing every conceivable variant of red-headedness, anything short of orange wouldn't be far off!
I think his hair "looks" lighter in the last episodes because he's been outside and in sunshine which will brighten it. Actually, I think the shade's pretty good, tending to the darker which is how I've understood it to be.
I'm still not pleased with Claire's hair...it should be light brown, not black. I'm assuming Ms. Balfe didn't want to completely fry her hair since she got such a tight perm. However, GoT has proved wigs are very sophisticated and undetectable now, so I don't know why they didn't go that route. Still, hair colour is a small thing when she plays all Claire's facets so well. I'm goose-bumply seeing the subtle changes now in her expressions when with Jamie. That's an advantage one doesn't have with the books' first person narrative...although I LOVE the immediacy of the first person narrative, and its lesser use as the book series progresses is one reason why I'm not as fond of them as I am of the first three.
I'm starting to wonder why I ever wondered if SH would be able to pull the role off.
Me, too. In fact, I think I should give myself a good hard !
And I'm sorry to hear about the RA....for both you ladies.

The official poster is perfect for the series, isn't it? Perfectly captures Claire caught in the middle of two times and two loves.
If you want to catch up on the rest of the episodes broadcast so far (1-5), I have links to a tv-share site that I use to watch eeeeeevery night before bed.
Yes, I am obsotted.

Mammi...here are the links and the instructions (modified) I sent off to a friend:
This site buffers much faster so you can start actually watching without interruption much sooner (almost immediately). The continuous advertisement pop-up windows while getting the download going are a *$%^@! nuisance. Also, don't be confused that the real episode titles either aren't there...or say Killers. And don't click on anything except what I tell you to or you'll be trapped in a maze of pop-ups and downloads! To be helpfully precisely clear: 1) scroll down a bit under the "screen" and click Continue to Video then close the new window (the original will update)2) click the blue onscreen Close Ads[x] (ignore other stuff), close the new window (the original will update)3) you may have to repeat 24) click the blue onscreen continue to video[x] (ignore other stuff), close the new window if one pops up (the original will update)5) you may have to repeat 46) click on the Play wedgie on screen or bottom left, expand screen to Full Size....and prepare to swoon! I also find I have to kick my volume waaaay up on a couple of the episodes to hear them.

What is it about a man in a kilt?
This is a really cute video with the main actors, Exec. Producer Ron Moore, and Herself answering that (I love the Scots' responses ), and other pertinent questions...especially the last one! I'm going to be watching even more carefully from now on!
(Sorry about the commercial at the beginning but it's short.)
