From the same source, this one makes me jumping with joy.
Russell crowe is back in gladiator form. I forgot how handsome he is. His "Robin hood" wears leather pants. Much better than green tights

Ro, what kind of a horse was Fluffy? Was it an Andalusian, too, I'm pretty certain he was. He's in several scenes in Gladiator, not just the Barbarian Hoard one.

He sounds like he's having a blast! How fun and how cool of him to share it with us via Murph.

Well....I think I can forgive her spelling since she's not sitting in front of her computer in her office, she's tweeting from her phone, most like,
while she's right there watching and being tackled.
Could you manage to spell if you had just been tackled by Himself?

this thing with the Insider, is Lara S, planning to show her trip to the set of RH on the INSIDER, if so does anyone know when.?

RUSTY, noone knows at this point. I would expect that this interview being done so early, that Universal will be trying to keep the interest up so hopefully it
will be sooner than later. I'm pretty sure The Insider will be promoting the Robin Hood clip before it airs, though.
From an interview with Brian Helgeland about Pelham 123. I really like his comments about the direction they're going with Robin Hood. http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=6976&Itemid=99

I was trying to make him a person and make it a believable drama, in some ways, and show how that story started with a real guy that was more grounded.sounds good to me. Johnny Depp as Robin Hood would be a different Robin Hood than Russell Crowe as Robin Hood.yah think? for one thing, i wouldn't be sitting reading about johnny depp as robin hood. i just can't picture it. well, i
can, i just don't want to.
this is the only cap'n jack who catches my interest..... i think i'll take up swimming again...

Depp is a very fine actor, but looking as he does can't help but affect how his character is perceived. It's simply hard for him to be taken as an
"Everyman" the way Russell can be.
I've seen the trailer for "Public Enemies" and he looks great in it...very believable. Like Robin Hood, a charismatic robber...but with an...insouciance...that works for John Dillinger that wouldn't work for a "grounded" Robin Hood. Russell has the "Everyman" look...and the charisma, of course...but also a dignitas that I don't think Depp could bring, simply because of the features and build genetics gave him. I can see Depp playing Robin Hood...just not this Robin Hood.

Apples and oranges. Like 'em both.
If all a person has ever seen Johnny in is the Pirate movies, you've missed the best part (although I like Cap'n Sparrow very much), because he's an excellent serious actor. I respect his innovation greatly. I'm looking forward to Public Enemies too -- it looks fab! |

Count me in re Public Enemies. Loved the trailer and can't wait. I think Johnny will shine. I like Johnny a lot, but not in Pirates. I like him in adult
fare. Way back when the first Pirates came out, I really tried to like it but by the last quarter, I was bored out of my frickin' skull. Counted the
minutes till it was over. That type of movie is just not my cup of tea and never will be, no matter how hard I try to like them.
Wait a minute, there's an exception. I am (or maybe was) a Terminator fan. I liked Terminator I and II a lot. III was forgettable enough that I barely remember it. I was looking forward to IV because of Christian, but seeing the preview recently, it didn't do anything for me and I'll wait for the dvd.

jeez, i feel like i have to keep explaining myself lately. i've seen quite a few of mr. depp's movies, and i agree he can do fine work. i enjoyed
scissorhands, i adored chocolat, and i suspect i'll even see public enemies. i just think if he were to try to do a version of
robin hood, his robin would be a character along the lines of his cap'n sparrow - more of a cartoon than a plausible human being.

I dunno about a "cartoon" Robin, becks.... I'd picture him more of an "Errol Flynn" Robin...again mostly because of his physical
self.

bollocks is right! besides, if robin had gone to the holy land to fight in one of the crusades, unless he went when he was a teenager, it makes sense that
he'd be a slightly 'older' man anyway. overland travel wasn't easy or quick, and the crusaders were often gone for ten to fifteen years. if
he'd been 25 when he left, he could easily manage to be 40 or thereabouts upon his return.
and if marian waited for her true love, she would hopefully still be a 'maid', even at the advanced age of 40. robin might have to do some judicious killing of rivals if she were not!
