Oh, yes, Becky....
Look... 'Course, I wouldn't turn down either (or both) Wuthering Heights or Jane Eyre.....(I've been working through some of the classics again, for
some reason!)

I must admit I haven't seen Anthony Andrews' version, but I did love the old bw one with Leslie Howard and Merle Oberon.

It's sort of an English version of Zorro. Foppish aristocrat is actually daring defender. Both versions are great and a lot of fun. I do confess to a
young girl's crush on Anthony Adrews back in his Brideshead/Danger UXB days. Didn't Andrews do Ivanhoe too?

I do confess to a young girl's crush on Anthony Adrews back in his Brideshead/Danger UXB days. Ditto on the Brideshead (although I wasn't so young ). Even liked him on The Loveboat!
Hmmm....just checked IMDB... I thought he'd died....but he's alive with 3 kids and trodding the boards to great acclaim in London!

Didn't Andrews do Ivanhoe too?Too right, Kaspi! He did a fine job with that one as well! What an earnest young knight he made!!! It is great to have more reports of people having a positive experience with Russell, in any case. Mark Strong is in this movie, right? I watched a BBC Henry V111 from Netflix recently, wasnt expecting him to be in it but there he was in a small part.
And just yesterday I saw him in Ms Pettigrew Lives For A Day, a small part there as well. Hes quite good looking, he was sexy in BOL. [Guess I still have a
thing for British actors] Ciaran Hinds was in Pettigrew too, I think some people here like him.

I'm tempted to watch a R.Hood series I think was on BBC about 20 years ago, I think its 'Robin of Sherwood'. I'm gonna have to check Netflix. I'll probably rent it, I like Ray Winstone and hes in it..so..Um... have the DVD set... LOVE IT! My introduction to Ray Winstone (Will Scarlet) and loved him, but also Michael Praed sure looks pretty!
I have Robin and Marion (TMC showed it several weeks ago) waiting to be watched on my dvr.WATCH IT! One of my faves! I've always been a big fan of the Robin Hood mythology (along with the King Arthur mythology and many other mythologies) and I worked in a movie store, so I've seen a LOT of the other movies. And I'm REALLY looking forward to this one!

I love this story. Here's an interesting little tie-in for Russell's upcoming movie. Obviously this is wrong but you still kinda sorta hafta give the
woman some credit for her heart being in the right place.

Apparently Robin Hood will be included in Jan issue of Empire. Great little inset photo of Robin, but they'd better get a cover come April or so.
http://www.comicvine.com/news/new-iron-man-image-hes-not-too-happy/139850/ We've seen little glimpses from Iron Man 2. The question has been, will Tony Stark change up the Iron Man armor in any way? Empire Online has debuted the cover to the next Empire Magazine with Iron Man on the cover. As you can see, he's not looking too happy. The issue will have a full set report giving "an inside look on the production, as well as all-new behind-the-scenes shots of Tony Stark and co." There's also updates on Russell Crowe's Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes and Kick-Ass.

I have Robin and Marion (TMC showed it several weeks ago) waiting to be watched on my dvr. Arrrggghhh..!!! How did I miss this ? I thought I had my iPod TV app geared to keep an eye out for it. I love this movie - it's very autumnal and melancholy but beautifully acted. Whatever happened to Richard Lester ?? Me want BIG version of Empire Robin Hood cover shot. Me want NOW.

Empire must love Russell because he's good for selling magazines, but if you wander around that issue online, you'll see a poll for the 100 sexiest
movie stars (50 men/50 women) and .........
RUSSELL ISN'T EVEN ON THE LIST!!!!!!!!!! "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover." ~Mark Twain~ |
