yeah, i'd take that job. i'd guess it's fortunate, perhaps even surprising considering the scale of these scenes, that we haven't heard of more injuries. i'm just glad that it sounds like those that have occurred weren't too terrible. "i want to be what he's drinkin' -

Did someone say 'sex scene'? *sits up straight, wide awake now, takes sip of coffee and contemplates* YouTube: Two videos of filming at Freshwater West - One - The Battle - Two - Preparing and scenes of the set -- Thanks, Maria

Squeeeee! A sex scene! (My stomach flip-flops in giggly girl anticipation!)
What strikes me about the battle scenes are the beautiful banners. Has anyone else ever listened to the commentaries for "Kingdom of Heaven?" I believe it was one of the set designers who commented that they had just filmed one huge scene and the next day they were instructed that Ridley wanted more banners. When asked why, the response was, "Ridley likes lots of banners."

"....gargantuan - the biggest I've ever worked with".If even Russ says that! Is there anything that could sound more promising?!

When asked why, the response was, "Ridley likes lots of banners." Indeed he does. My abiding image from "1492", made in 1992, is of the long looong pennants snapping from the masts of the Punta, Nina and Santa Maria. What a Columbus Russell would have made....

maria found this article with a cute photo of Robin Hood in his sunnies, I've always loved the pic we have of Maximus in his green jacket and sunglasses,
LOL.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2009/06/21/here-comes-ray-ban-hood-115875-21458946/ Russell Crowe films Robin Hood battle scenes in Wales![]() Russell Crowe brought a bit of Hollywood magic to Wales as he filmed battle scenes for Nottingham. Crowe, 45, who plays Robin Hood, led a cavalry charge across Freshwater Beach in Pembrokeshire on Friday. The 800 cast and crew took over the adjoining fields in scores of trailers.
![]() Russell Crowe (Pic:Dimitris Legakis) Between takes Oscar-winner Russell kept slipping on a pair of shades. An onlooker said: "It was odd to see Russell in sunglasses, with everyone else in chain mail and armour." ---------------------- I found these sword practice pics at APA picturedesk. These aren't clickable thumbs, they're actual size, watermarked but not too badly. It looks like Russell's stunt double is mirroring some of his moves as he also has to learn the choreography. Not that he'll probably make use of it, LOL.

From a blogger on holiday in Wales, with photos from filming of the battle scenes on the beach. The pics are from quite a distance but it sure looks like it
would be a fun day to watch the filming.

Okay, I know having Russell/Robin bare-headed here is so we know who he is in the throng but......not realistic. How likely is it he'd be the only one heading into battle with not only no helmet, but not even a chainmail hood? Sir Ridley's notorious penchant for realism has slipped with this one.

Kevin was bareheaded the entire time as well, not sure why though.

i'm glad someone else noticed this. i know robin is supposed to be bold and brave
, but there are limits to these traits!

BUT.......if Robin and Little John have just come from the forest to lead these knights they wouldn't have chainmail. I'm sure they discarded it
after the Crusade.
