There used to be a web site that had a load of fan fic dedicated to all kinds of movies and there were so many for G. Can't remember what it was called though. Basically, it was an Email device but I could browse the internet, I just couldn't download anything. When my daughter finally bought a new computer she gave me her old one. a Few years ago I finally broke down and bought myself a Dell.

So I left a comment on the Nattering thread, whcih Draghnfly must have seen. As I thought threads didn't expire until they hit 20 pages, and the last Glad Goodies thread was still only 17 pages, I wasn't sure what was going on. Anyhoo here's a page where you can download "Maximus Lives" (stoopid name) as a pdf. Please let me know if you have any problems downloading it. Any and all comments deeply welcomed. However, please be a little forebearing ! We wrote it seven (!!??) years ago and parts now seem very "purple prose". We were putting down what we would have liked to see on the screen then, writing to what we perceived as Russell's strengths. All such perceptions change over time and given two weeks' isolation in a log cabin with a laptop, I would probably completely rewrite and open it up it as a long story. But I'm a slow writer ....and besides, I actually honestly think Maximus should rest in peace - as a film sequel, anyway. Dave wrote almost all the first third. I inserted the Persian market scene and Kaspi and I did it all after Maximus' swan dive into the crowd (which I loathed $:\$ ) to the end. I do have favourite bits , but you'll have to tell me yours before I tell you mine. And if you hate it that's fine too. No, really !! Tell me what doesn't work for you. I really enjoyed the process and am happy to learn. Who knows, I may get the urge again one day! "Man,if you've gotta ask, you'll never know "

I think that those chains, the fact that Maximus has his heart hurt, that he can die in the arena.....well, everything in Maximus turns our imagination and hormones on!

Didn't know you liked British military ceremonial events, becks ! No one does it better. When I was little my father would put a LP of the Black Watch trooping the colour on after we were in bed, so I grew up loving bagpipes. Then later I lived in London, in the middle of British ceremonial for 18 years; Hubby was on the Trooping and both rehearsals every year. I used to walk over through St. James Park and watch him ride by , then go home to watch it all on TV. Great days.... The Queen's Birthday Parade Trooping the Colour was today, in fact.
