In that case our team should be doing better. They've been running a tv commercial for the games with the Swedish national team standing in front of the
coach, who is seated on a white horse, in full General's regalia, giving them an adapted version of the "What we do in life echoes in eternity"
speach. It's driving me round the bend, are they even allowed to do these things?

HAHA! Well I guess they can all use a little Max Magic. So, Scherzo, big chance that our teams meet in the quarter finals...

There's not many things I like better than a good bagpipe band and some rousing marches. (There's a reason they call them 'rousing'.)
scherzo and mariellen....if your two teams meet, and they're both hoping the Gladiator effect will work to their advantage---in effect, that Max will be on their side---that raises one of those paradoxical religious-like issues, doesn't it? How will Max decide? Be sure and tell us who won.

We know this guy.
Smithsonian Alma-Tadema's meticulous archaeological research, including research into Roman architecture (which was so thorough that every building featured in his canvases could have been built using Roman tools and methods) led to his paintings being used as source material by Hollywood directors in their vision of the ancient world for films such as D. W. Griffith's Intolerance (1916), Ben Hur (1926), Cleopatra (1934), and most notably of all, Cecil B. deMille's epic remake of The Ten Commandments (1956). Indeed, Jesse Lasky Jr., the co-writer on The Ten Commandments, described how the director would customarily spread out prints of Alma-Tadema paintings to indicate to his set designers the look he wanted to achieve. The designers of the Oscar-winning Roman epic Gladiator used the paintings of Alma-Tadema as a central source of inspiration.Lawrence Alma-Tadema The official Gladiator site is no more.

Found this in my stacks......I've had several people send me their old clips and mags, and I'm afraid I don't know who sent me this particular
page, sorry, otherwise I'd say thanks. And unfortunately there's nothing on it to tell the date, but it must have been in 2000 sometime. Just
interesting. To me, anyway.

He's hugely respectful... Nice. I wish I had used that in a debate I had at a Hobbit site over casting RC as Beorn. Someone there had definitely bought into the whole range of tabloid garbage about Russell and said Peter Jackson would not wish to have anyone so disruptive on set. I gave up after a few days.

ro, you just can't discuss with people like that...
a friend of mine.. a really good friend actually.... she saw an interview with russ --- eons ago.... where he was chewing a gum and was "griping" or not laughing enough or whatever..... and that made her cementing her opinion about him -- until today!!!!!! her opinion of him being rude, unkind, unbearable... all in one a subject you don't want to have around. and nothing what i say can change that!! don't ask me why. but i think, that's the way it is.... we know him.. and we love him for being him!! and nothing will change that either!
