I don't think Lewis is as evil - at least that seems to be the leanings as the drunken muse is pulling... of course there was a reference to my twisty
brain so we'll see where my lunch hour takes me... maybe ;)
Yes I am an agent of Satan but it's largely a ceremonial position.

I know I've let this story line wander a bit - I do have something but it's like old bread dough and I'm in the process of seeing what can
and should be saved... bear with me.... In the meantime - Enjoy Cat.
Catherine was going about her day, giving no thought to the day or date, she had checked Nodin with Fayde that morning, a minor bump but mum was worried
when his lip swelled. Then they bullied mum into a quick check on her and her twins, other than the "I'm fat as an elephant and have less grace"
quip all seemed well. She enjoyed lunch with her husband, who was taking the afternoon shift with his wife they spoke of the duties of the day, their lack of
plans for the evening, and what Catherine might like John to cook for dinner.
After another check on active boys with bumps and bruises, Catherine set to making the clinic organized and ready for the next day. She passed the window
and sniffed, "oh yum John is actually making my favorite stew! Oh I do hope he bakes more bread, it goes so well with that!"
Cort smiled and simply could not believe his wife had forgotten it was her birthday, especially after Giggles had made such a production of reminding her
husband it was her special day… But Cort knew his wife was content in their simple life, she worked hard, played hard and insisted they have time away from
everyone, to simply be with each other. Cort worried that he didn't have the same elaborate set up that he had last year, but with day to day living he
simply didn't plan ahead. Good thing his wife wasn't date obsessed. Fayde entered the infirmary with her family in tow, "Evening folks"
Catherine turned and smiled at Fayde's daughters, she could to that now with some affection as the girls called Jack 'Dad' and she knew in her
heart, those girls belonged to him. Plus the children were innocent and Catherine let those thoughts go for tonight.
"Don't you girls look nice tonight?'
"It's for the party!" beamed El
"Ah," Fayde shifted her chatty daughter behind her, "you know Snug always cooking up something for the kids, she's about to be as busy as
a one armed paper hanger so she's fussing now."
Catherine frowned, "should she be doing so much - you said this morning-"
"I know that's why Jack and girls are going early - right Jack?"
"Ah - right! Let's go girls we can't keep Aunt Snug waiting"
Fayde smiled as she heard her girls questioning their father, "but Dad! Why not stay with mum you said-"
"Eden! Let's move!"
Catherine looked at Fayde and she covered, "kids - blurt out whatever! So, things quiet here?'
"Yes" said Cort taking Catherine's arm, she had that look like she was about to become a dog with a bone "and we're going to freshen
up for dinner." Catherine looked at her husband as if he'd lost his mind, "since when do we dress for dinner?"
"I didn't say dress I said freshen up" he smiled and leaned in to kiss his beloved, "I've missed you today."
"We've worked together all day and you must admit I haven't tried to put my hands on you all day."
"I wondered if I was wearing the wrong perfume" Catherine smiled wrapping her arms around her husband, "Can we be late to supper"
"Oh a few minutes" Cort mapped his wife's figure, this simple act of holding his beloved close was enough to stir him, where normally he
would have taken his time, but his attentions were divided. He focused on his wife, her needs, wants, and as he laid her down she sighed and whispered,
"I can have stew later" Cort fought for air to enter his lungs, his mind, body and soul were all for his beloved, and finally joined, mated he
looked into her eyes, flush with the passion for him and him alone. He tasted her as he kissed her tenderly as he loved her the same way. She urged him on,
giving, taking, sighing and finally shouting as each reached their peak of happiness. Spent lax and desperately trying to fill his lungs and get his mind back
to the task at hand. "Ok, now we have a reason to clean up" he rose kissed his wife then pulled her from their bed, "come on now - John made
Catherine grunted, "What has gotten into you tonight? Why don't we just sneak over for leftovers later?"
Cort carefully danced away from his wife's very talented fingers and dressed, "get dressed we'll have dessert later I promise two
It was then Catherine thought about her husband's behavior, he kept looking out the window then watching her, she dressed and then stood before her
husband - "What aren't you telling me? If it's bad news just tell me!"
"What?" Cort, never the accomplished story teller set to making their room neat and tidy, "nothing - no bad news just nothing."
Catherine sat on the bed, arms and legs crossed, "Cort" she grumped.
Cort took a deep breath and then smiled at his beloved, "Come let's go to dinner - trust me."
She took his hand frowned for form then they headed outside, she noticed almost the entire village was milling around the cooking fires then she noticed
the flowers and the streamers then everyone turned and shouted "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"
"Oh - my - Gosh - I forgot I completely forgot!" She laughed accepted the hug and kiss from her beloved and fought tears as he whispered
"Am I forgiven?"
"Nothing to forgive - am I?"
"Nothing to forgive" he smiled.
The dinner was a festive affair, Catherine's favorite meal, and a luscious chocolate cake with only one candle, "One?"
"One is enough for my beloved"
"Who wants a cake covered in wax?" quipped Giggles - "come on cat blow it out I love cake!"
"Who doesn't" she quietly made her silent wish looking at her husband's face dancing in the candlelight then gently blew it out.
Full of cake, love and amazement at her own lack of awareness Catherine laid her head on her husband's shoulder as they walked around the village,
"I can't believe I forgot" Cort smiled and directed his wife's steps toward home, "I'm glad you did, I got to share my wife's
happiness and celebration with our family, other people's children will be up late with chocolate cake, and now I get to tuck you into our bed, and keep
And he did, until very late the next day….

Go the Bunnies!
"Gee thanks," Snug snorted then blushed remembering that she was talking to a god.
Dec 16 09 2:39 PM
Hando shifted and grunted and quietly swore under this breath then turned and looked back at Snug, "Now highness?"
"Priestess" she smiled, "yes that is the right location thank you Hando."
"Where is your mate and why is he not doing the heavy lifting?"
"He's making the celebration dinner, and your mate's most favorite dessert so she will be warm and willing with you this evening; my thank you
for moving that altar."
"I don't need chocolate cake to get Thal into bed-"
"I meant no disrespect or comment to your prowess Hando - I just know she likes John's chocolate cake."
Hando grumped wiped the sweat from his forehead and saw another annoyance heading toward the temple, "I've got things to see to" and he ran to
escape Snug and her mother.
"Laura! What are you doing up here? Should you moving about so? Where are the boys and when are you going to properly name those two?"
Snug smiled and swayed with her new boys tucked safely into the double sling, "I am up here to ensure things are ready for the naming ceremony to be
held at dawn tomorrow."
"Dawn - naming ceremony?"
Snug sat and gestured for her mother to join her, "I found this simple ceremony during one of my forced beddings during my pregnancy and it spoke to
me. Plus I had a wonderful dream the other morning, where I was blessed to speak with the Mother and walk again in her meadow - such peace - and I saw - well
I saw a great deal."
"Really Laura you had a labor induced hallucination - her meadow - really" then she saw her daughter's face, patience and mixed with
annoyance, Emily held back. "All right all right tell me; will everyone at least be dressed?"
"Only body parts you might see are mine when the boys are hungry."
"That is nature - and I live with it." She paused and looked at the picture so lovingly painted on the wall, "she is quite lovely"
Snug smiled, "inside and out"
Emily covered her daughter's hand with her own, "I-I don't claim to have any better understanding of all this Laura but I see you glow with
happiness and John. Do you see him when you nurse? I didn't believe a man could have such tender feelings for a woman but there is it written on his -
and when he touched your belly - hold him close my daughter that is a rare man indeed."
"Deka mated me well; we both came from small families but had something inside of us to have more as we grew. Now I will have to look at my husband
the next time the boys' needs are being met."
"So about this dawn ceremony - no chance of doing it later in the morning?"
Snug laughed and woke her 'elder' son, with a practiced hand she shifted, uncovered and he latched on happily. "The birth of twins is cause
for both concern and celebration in the ancient texts… my two are the third pair of the tribe in all my readings this is quite the milestone, only at the
founding of the tribe were there more, 5 pairs of twins within a generation, meaning parents of similar age, that ushered in a very prosperous time for the
tribe, after a period of time, then four generations no twins and the decline of the village, I think my boys are a symbol and I want something special to note
our tribe's growth and strength. The ceremony is quite simple and it will please John he takes the lead role. With boys you generally want to give Dad
"Does he believe all this?'
"He has a quiet faith, it is his without ceremony or demonstration, and he enjoys the old tales almost as much as our children do. I think, he
believes in something, that is guiding us along without pushing."
"You push" smiled her mother.
"I have always pushed back" replied Snug.
In the still of the jungle as dusk approached a quiet peace was reached between mother and daughter - for now.
John bundled his older children and carried them to the temple, he smiled as Alish smiled, "story time?"
"Not yet little one, stay here with Nodin, Daddy will be right back."
John opened the scroll and tried to calm down.
Snug winked at John, and spoke quietly to her daughter, "you're the eldest daughter remember you have a part."
Alish smiled and remembered her part; she took her mother's hand as she carried a sleeping Nodin as they stood just behind John. John looked around at
everyone and smiled nervously, "Ah Snug found this naming ceremony; apparently twins are a big deal in Deka's world. According to Snug this
John smiled, "hang on Alish Daddy is getting to it."
Snug bent down and whispered in her daughter's ear then she went to sit by her Grandmother. "Ah OK, so without further - this story was written
here in the Weymess Tribe by a Deka priestess who named the last two sets of twins born to our founding members twin brothers, Gareth and Reese. It was
written in her voice, so - Snug?
"John, for heavens sakes, skip to the second page, name our sons and we'll tell her story later."
"Oh thank goodness" John smiled at his fellow cousins, as he saw things exchanging and his smiled turned down, John made a mental note to screw
with his cousins later. "Ok then this will be quick" John paused rolled his eyes at the male members of the tribe then looked at his wife and read
the paper before him, "By Deka's hand they were led from the meadow, their faces so new to us, boys who came in a pair, to double the size of our
family, increase the strength of our numbers, and bring to Kabria warriors in service, John touched the kicking foot of his elder twin, by a father's
touch, a father's pride you shall be known as Kade Rowan; John then moved to his brother sleeping soundly on the altar he gently touched his foot and
spoke, by a father's touch, a father's pride you shall be know as Kaelan Adian. Kade and Kaelan born into warmth, surrounded by life, blessed by our
gods walk with pride for all your long days."
John looked at his wife smiling sweetly it was Sid that broke he quiet, "can we eat now?"
Snug smiled, "Let us feast in honor of all our children."
"At least we know we are going to eat good for a long time" snapped Sid who headed out of the temple. Mary walked by, her burden becoming very
heavy she sighed, "you look tired but lighter" she smiled at Snug, "you time will too come - and - it will just fine Mary, sit away from the
fires as you will be too warm and be sure to try some of John's venison stew - he has found a new spice"
The tribe enjoyed the breakfast feast; most had moved off to see to the minor chores of the day, Snug sat in the shade all her children were napping and she
sat feet up looking content. kaspi and Giggles sat with cool drink their children quietly playing in the pile of dirt a favorite of the Beibe children,
"How did you get them all to sleep at the same time? The littlest ones were easy they were fed and dry, Nodin is still a bit of a napper, Alish wandered
inside to watch the babies for fairies and she conked out too."
"Fairies?" asked Gigs
"My mother said to watch the babies when they were sleeping if they smile then fairies are dancing on their eyelids. I've had to stop her from
poking the babies' eyes while they were sleeping more than once." The women shared a laugh a moment of quiet then as Thal came and sat with her
daughter the question was asked, "So what didn't John want to read in the temple?"
Snug smiled, "It is the story written by a traveling priestess who saw the number of twins in the tribe, the endowments of the men and wrote of what
"Come one Snug! What?"
"Sit back and allow me to tell the tale… She arrived in the village as two mated women were so very large with child, I will speak it as she wrote
I saw those women and worried at their size, too much meat I worried, not enough walking about their home, but as I was introduced I saw, two babies for
each woman and in the following days I saw the children, more born together! I was so surprised I went back to my few written words to see if this was a
blessing or a warning. Seeing the abundance that survived with the tribe, the wisdom that I saw at its head and through my prayer and meditation I saw - it
was a true blessing.
I asked to stay with the tribe until both of the twins were safely born; both women were greatly touched to have me attend their birthings.
Such blessings to witness and be part, they bore their children into the world with love and joy and no small amount of noise. New mothers are such a
joy to link with and see all the pain and fear and yet want so desperately to do it all for those new lives.
But it is what I have felt about this tribe that I must document, such power, such virility from the men these warriors it is no wonder why the woman
are mated, and have such high regard for Deka and her blessings. I am not of this tribe but feel so elemental here, I have spoken to the tribal chieftain, he
was taken aback of my request but I had to ask, I cannot be mated to this one; my mate gave his life in battle , but I must be permitted to seek Deka's
blessing with a member of this tribe. "
"Hold the - are you suggested she wanted to do the act with a member of the tribe and walk away?"
"No she wanted to be impregnated by a member of this tribe."
The women all stared at Snug, she rose and returned with a talking Alish, and two twins each enjoying another meal. "Alish go see Daddy for a snack,
Mommy and the girls are talking."
"Nope - mommy stuff."
Alish tottled off and Snug smiled, "she got a bit graphic and Alish didn't need to hear that." Thal looked at her daughter and Zelda playing
in the dirt, "should I--?
"They won't hear and I'll clean it up a bit."
"NO!" said Gigs and kaspi together.
The women laughed and Snug sat back and rocked her boys, "well to continue, keeping this kind of thing out of the mouths of tribe members was
"Some things never change" Laughed Giggles
I stayed for 3 days and 3 nights just outside the temple I prayed and prayed, and then she spoke so briefly to me, "your mate is gone but not
forgotten seek my blessing my daughter."
That night I bathed with care, dressed with more, blessed the meal of the tribe and bathed in the emotions of the tribe, loving mothers, children with
such gifts, fathers such strong warriors to Kabria it was late, as I sat by a small fire at the edge of the village. I sipped my tea knowing he would come to
me tonight, and there he stood, so proud so regal, he inquired as to my wellness I began to tell him of all my well being -but he stopped. He spoke quietly,
and with heartfelt words, "I am not mated, and understand your request, I am a strong warrior - "his words faltered, then I knew, I rose and held out
my hand, when he took it I felt the warmth and smiled, "do not worry fine warrior for I will be gone and forgotten from your mind."
The warrior was unsure but felt compelled to seek out the priestess, he wasn't mated but he wasn't without company, still he paused. "I
don't understand why am I here?"
"There is a blessing within this tribe, the place where so many babies come together from her meadow. It's a sign of prosperity and virility -
you will gift me with some of this from your tribe." The priestess walked into the small hut, lit only with one fat squat candle, I disrobed and stood
bathed in the light, he stood, and I felt every emotion pumping and I was not displeased to feel want and need mixed with the worry and concern - and what
warrior when offered a willing female is concerned about her? This tribe has some wonder qualities and I could only hope that Deka will bless me and I can
carry this gift to others.
Snug paused and picked up the paper, "you don't know it all by heart?" asked kaspi?
"Well no she writes now 2 mornings after -that's when she got good."
The women leaned in and Snug read: Two nights I had him, his body, his spirit, when he was with me as a man as a warrior he was strong and tender,
demanding and caring, he filled my body, my spirit and my soul.
"Well" smiled Thal "that is something"
"Just wait" smiled Snug
I believe that Deka sent him to me, such a strong warrior so that I may be strong when I must depart. He asked questions while he held me close to
that strong body - so that I may hear his heart beat so strong under my ear. I answered the best I could, what I knew and what I prayed for, he held my face
my body, cupping the woman-hood with such awe that I will carry his seed to bear a child. He wanted to protect me but I knew I could not stay within the
warmth of maleness. So we drank some spiced drink and I gave him the gift of release, in his mind so that I became the vessel for his lust. I brought him
selfishly again and again to me; his body straining in glorious lust, his hands tender, strong and so large on my body - it brings me to joy again just to
think about him.
But now as the sun leaves this sky, I pack my things and walk the protective circle around the village. The cook packed for me such things to aide in
my journey. She cried tears of joy when I told her there was one more in Deka's village for her - her only child -her daughter I will see again. She has
already Deka's wisdom behind those young eyes. And when touched my belly she smiled, "he will be so strong". My hand joined hers, "as will
you my sister."
I walked away from the village so strong and virile, I will carry his seed, his child and that warrior will return and his children's children will
avenge any wrongs, love so strong, and live life on his own terms.
The women some hiding tears Snug wiped her own away, "sound like anyone we know?"
Thal was rocking Isa fighting a nap she studied the priestess, "she knew her mate was lost in war, and instead tricked a Weymess warrior into making
her pregnant and walked away?"
"I don't think she tricked him, I think Deka whispered in his ear and he went. She took away his need to protect a woman he had laid with and who
told him she would bear his child. What man in this tribe would let a woman he loved walk away with his child? Even if he wasn't mated."
"She knew he would return - a warrior."
"What aren't you telling us Snug?"
"I'm not sure, I've tried to trace back what family line this priestess contributed to but I've hit a few dead ends. Which is strange as I
can trace each branch back to almost the beginning, but for some reason this one is closed off to me. Deka must - "Snug paused, "lost records I
The women departed - some jokes made about vessels for their mate's lust - but it was Thal that stayed and asked her fellow priestess, "What
didn't you tell them?"
"I don't know Thal, I was walking with Deka in her meadow she was warning me, about how mothers are strong and protective of their children. I
think soon I or we will be called upon to protect our babies."
Thal stood tall and looked about the village, "we will speak to our guards and our Chieftain, and you new mother stand before your children - we
warriors are strong and vigilant."
Snug smiled at Thal's complete confidence, "thank you Thalassa, I will always stand before my children - all children of this village."
"SNUG! OH OH!" John groaned panted and sighed, "baby" he whispered in grateful awe, "what brought that on?" Snug snuggled
into her mate's warm body, "I was reminded what a good man you are, and you should be rewarded." John just smiled and held his wife,
"OK" and as he drifted off he heard one of his newest son's begin to make hungry noises, he settled in when Snug whispered, "sleep my love I
will tend to your sons"
As Snug saw the beginning of the new day she still wondered, what was Deka's true message and what that story added to it - if it did all…
