Posts: 0 (04/10/2005 09:23 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Report Post	The Cherry Blossoms peaked this weekend in DC and it was a perfect weekend for it. Everything was in bloom. Brian and I started out at the Lincoln Memorial, walked along the Reflecting Pool to the WWII Memorial and then, after a hunt for batteries for the camera, we made our way to the Tidal Basin. As much as I love seeing the trees, meeting all the dogs along the way is always the highlight for me. One year we met over 100 dogs! My favorite this year was a very cute two month old Shitszu pup who was all wiggles and doggie kisses. This is a sweet Corgi mix that we met at the beginning of the trail. This a view across the Tidal Basin looking at the Jefferson Memorial. You can see all of the people sitting on the steps enjoying the outdoor concert. A momma duck and with six of her ten ducklings. This is one of my favorite images. There are dogwoods and Apple Trees in the area as well and their petals covered the ground where this daffodil grew. Now we're finally on the other side of the basin. This is looking back to the Washington Monument which was directly behind us when we started. Finally just before we reached the Lincoln to complete our circuit, we met this little guy who really loved Brian's short bread cookies

If I weren't so under the weather, which seems to be my new permanent state of mind anymore, I would have ventured out. I think I can plan on not seeing the blossoms this year 'cause I can't imagine feeling 100% for a while. Thanks for letting me share the blossoms and the beautiful day vicariously. So close but yet so far.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for you even if it's just keeping you amused It was a gorgeous day and a nice way to end a week that was spent fighting a cold. I don't get to see Brian much at the moment so it was lovely to spend the afternoon with him. It was a bright sunny day so I had to wear a baseball cap to shade my eyes And one more of my favorites. I love looking up at the sky through the buds.

Today I received the following from someone at work in honor of my 10th anniversary with the company I work for and thought this thread the perfect place for it. Someone tell me I don't have a reputation: You could go to the far side of the world and your gladiator work ethic would still be a silver stallion leading the way. He'd gone through several versions with different movies he said, but liked the above best. I also received a Waterford Crystal star to mark my internment , er, years here. Guess which I like the best? EDIT: Typo. How did the word "would" get in that last sentence? Talk about no air to the brain.
