So k, did you watch "Empire of the Sun" yet? He was one of the best kid actors I've ever seen...

It was one of the dvd's I borrowed during your trip. I'm not a Spielberg fan but Empire of the Sun was understated and beautiful to watch. Christian was amazing. I love the scene when he's in his Persian prince costume and he finds the crashed fighter plane. Another favorite moment was when he admires a plane and presses his cheek it then salutes the Japanese pilots. What an amazing film. Yes, Sir, Captain Tight Pants! I am a leaf on the wind. I admire him as an actor and he's easy on the eyes too. Have you seen The Machinist? I've seen stills and he looks literally painfully thin. He IS purty, although I feel slightly uncomfortable drooling over him because I became a fan when he was just a wee lad...
HOWEVER -- anyone who knows me, knows I like *ahem* wet men. And one of my alltime favorite "wet man" pics is the lead pic on the "Water Water Everywhere" website... and it's Christian Bale!  (And there's plenty more on the Christian Bale page.)  He does look good wet! It was "Empire of the Sun" for me, DL, one of my all-time favorite movies. It contains several of my favorite themes (China, airplanes, coming of age, WWII, valor, life, death, honour), and it was beautifully acted and filmed. Young Christian was completely believable in all phases and should have been nominated for his performance IMHO, and I became an ardent, if motherly proud, fan. And then he grew up. And has pictures like that.
